Everyone knows the difficulties of saving space when you live in 25 square metres or less. But we’re about to show you how to make your cosy home a pleasant and agreeable space that you’ll never want to leave!
1 – Get rid of what you don’t need
In a small space, nothing is more annoying than little trinkets that accumulate and are good for nothing. So steel yourself and start sorting! Whether it’s in the kitchen, the bathroom, your wardrobe or your office space…. only keep what you really need! Less is more, as they say. You can also store the clothes you are not currently using in vacuum packs, to create even more space.
2 -Store right up to the ceiling
Make sure to use the full height of your walls: use and abuse the shelving for objects such as books, tote bags, tissues -you can even add some little decorations to cheer the place up!
3 – Choose only essential furniture
But choose large ones: A couch, a bed, a large desk and a few chairs, and you’re all set. You’ll feel much more at ease and you gain even more space by replacing multiple smaller pieces of furniture with more multi-functional large ones.

4 – Use your doors
There are loads of hooks and organisers that can be fixed to the inside of doors and presses to organise the little objects you use daily, that often take up a lot of space.
5 – Go for minimalist decorations
A pretty ornament, white with a few splashes of colour here and there, ‘minimalist’ objects and a Scandinavian style can work very well in small spaces, because they are generally functional as well as aesthetic. Choose simple, minimalist forms to create a little more space.
6 – Hang your television on the wall
Hanging your television on the wall may seem like nothing, but you’ll see how your living space immediately appears lighter and airier.
7 – Add more shelving
Especially above the toilets, to arrange your toilet paper, cleaning products, bath linen and reading material.
8 – Maximise your wardrobe space
Go for large shelves for your jumpers, trousers and t-shirts, with a little rack for shirts, dresses and other clothes that wrinkle easily.
9 – Organise!
It is no secret when you have a small living area: as soon as things are out of place, the whole place looks a mess. To remedy this, develop the habit of organising your living space every day (yes, you have read correctly), and never forget to do the washing up, the great scourge of single living, as well as the laundry (sorting it as soon as it is dry!)
10 -Play with light
It is well known that adding mirrors can create the illusion of space. Choose a minimalist style so as not to overload your decor. Next, go for several light sources rather than just one that hangs from the ceiling: a floor lamp, a few candles dotted around, and a maybe a table lamp.

11 – Create two small rooms from one large room
With the aid of a wall of open shelves, so as not to completely obstruct the space. Be sure to take advantage of the extra storage space.

12 – Use the area under the stairs
If you have a stairs, you can hide all sorts underneath them -under the steps or indeed hidden in the dead centre (see below), there are endless possibilities!
