Pollen is back, ready to travel miles through the wind and make your life difficult. As every time, it’s the same allergies; runny noses, red eyes and asthma attacks! Medications can help, but they do not work miracles. If it is difficult to escape, you can always use some tricks to survive during this period of pollination that will spread until the end of June. These few steps will make the difference. It is important not to allow an allergy to settle and to act so that it does not turn into asthma and these tips can be useful to you!
1) Do not dry laundry outdoors, especially during pollen peaks. Thus, the pollen will not cling to the linen.
And do not forget to wash the linen more often at 60 ° to give it a good clean
2) Good hygiene
It is important not to go out with wet hair, because the pollen will cling to it more easily than usual. Best to wash and dry your hair at night, so that you do not deposit the pollen it has accumulated all day on your pillow (and thus to avoid sleeping in it and worsen your allergies).
It is also advisable to rinse hands, nose, face and eyes with plenty of water regularly to get rid of pollen. Avoid rubbing your eyes with your dirty hands!
Also be aware that a warm bath without adding any product can help calm the itch.
3) Learn
On the Met office website you can consult the pollen levels and see the risk of allergic exposure to pollen. Charted between 0 (zero) and 5 (very strong). This will tell you when to avoid going out if possible.
Also note that going outside for a walk is to be preferred after a downpour rather than when the weather is hot and dry so watch the weather. On the other hand, getting out before a thunderstorm is not recommended.
4) Windows
Keep the windows of your car closed so as not to encounter any problems and put the ventilation of your car in a closed circuit.
The windows in your house must also remain closed. If you have an air purifier, go for the antiparticle filter to be quiet. Alternatively ventilate your interior in the morning rather than in the afternoon when the pollen is very present.
