We know that sponges are excellent for all types of dirt removal, but if you confine them to the kitchen just for cleaning, you’re missing out! In fact, these bargain objects can be used in multiple ingenious ways, making them even more indispensable in our eyes!
1) Freeze a wet sponge in a freezer bag
You can use it as an ice pack to apply to sites of pain, or pop it in with your picnic to keep food or drinks cool.
2) Sprinkle a little bicarbonate of soda on to a damp sponge (not a wet one) and put it in the fridge to remove bad odours.

3) A piece of sponge attached to a chopstick allows you to clean the base of any container.

4) Use sponges to protect your knees while you do the gardening or the housework.

5) Put some pieces of sponge on the base of objects or pieces of furniture to prevent slipping or sliding.

6) You can use elastic bands to attach sponges to your brush handles, shovels or rakes to protect your hands.

7) A sponge at the base of a plant pot (underneath the soil) will retain water and the roots of your plants will benefit from the humidity.
