2 health tips if you work at a computer all day

Fatigue and back pain after a long day’s work is nothing new to office workers. Your back is in bits and your eyes are glazed over. Many health problems we encounter in the office can be easily solved with a few simple tips. By remaining seated for too long (and by sitting in a poor posture), we risk back pain, muscular degeneration, heart problems, diabetes, colon cancer and more…. Those who spend most of their day in front of the computer or in a seated position should also make note of these tips, because as we all know, a sedentary life tends not to be the greatest for our health.

1. For office workers, ensure you have a good position and posture at your desk

As well as finding the best position, remember to move about at least once an hour. Get up for a few moments to throw papers in the bin, chat with the receptionist, or have a coffee, so that your body can go back to a normal position when you return to your desk. There are also certain tasks you can do standing up, such as making phone calls. It is equally important to go out and get a bit of air from time to time.

Breathe.

2. Look after your eyes while on the computer

Because of gazing for too long at the computer, hello to headaches and sore eyes! To keep your eyes in the best shape possible, give them regular pauses by raising your gaze to look into the distance. You can also gently massage your eyes. Remember also that you should keep a distance of at least 50 cm between your eyes and your computer.

You can also install an application that adapts the brightness of your screen and limits the blue rays emitted by your computer. F.lux is an example of such an app, among others. It is a remedy that is not invasive, as well as being user friendly.
