Dust: no sooner have you gotten rid of it than it comes back! Dusting seems like an endless, frustrating process. We are sick and tired of removing it (sending loads of it flying everywhere) but nothing seems to do the trick. The results of our efforts aren’t too convincing (it stays in all the corners) and it seems to come back at high speed, the minute we have our backs turned. In fact, the secret is in the method! Here are 21 tips to reach your goals and effectively combat this scourge.

1) Use a sticky roller for removing dust from clothes without destroying them

2) Make a cloth more anti-static (and thus more effective) by soaking it in a mix of water, white vinegar and liquid paraffin. Your surfaces will remain dust-free for longer.

4) For the tops of high presses and cabinets, you can leave sheets of newspaper on top of them. You only have to change them when necessary and dust won’t go flying everywhere. Ideal for the kitchen.

5) To effectively remove dust from couches and armchairs, sprinkle them with bicarbonate of soda and leave to rest for 20 minutes. Hoover it up afterwards with your vacuum cleaner.

6) Clean the blades of your blinds with a used dryer sheet. Another effective solution is to put your hand in a clean sock and pinch the blades with your fingers. The sock will clean both sides. A pincer covered in a cloth will do the same job.
