In the past few months, we’ve become big fans of putting teabags in the car to neutralise odours. This simple technique can remove bad odours, and costs almost nothing, as well as helping feel less nauseous due to the smell of commercial air fresheners. It goes without saying that having a car that smells good is always a pleasure to get into, which is especially important if you spend a lot of time on the road. This is why this article offers three techniques to have the inside of your car smelling fresh and clean.

1) Scented wooden clothes pegs

What you need:

  • Wooden clothes peg(s)
  • Essential oil(s) -for example, wild orange is used here
  • A sandwich bag or a freezer bag
  • Optional: fresh herbs (e.g., mint)

Method:

1) Add 5 drops of the essential oil of your choice to a clothes peg. You can use several clothes pegs if you like.

2) Put the clothes peg(s) into a sandwich bag or a freezer bag. You can add strong scented fresh herbs (such as mint) for a more intense odour should you so wish (orange-mint always works).

If you don’t add herbs, use the sachet to hold the peg(s) until you are ready to use it.

3) Clip your peg(s) to the air vents in your car.
