For women who want to keep a long length and have split ends, here are ways to prevent split ends, as no treatments will repair them!
1) Food and habits
Your hair will be beautiful depending on your diet. So you have to drink a lot, that’s the basics. Eat in a healthy and balanced way, do physical activity and give your hair the chance to belong to a healthy body. This is the only real solution to have healthy hair that grows and does not break.
In addition: the swimming pool, the sea, the sun … your hair is quickly weakened by your habits. Use protective care and wear hats for the sun. They will thank you.
2) Brush your hair
If you yank your hair, they will break. Brush from the bottom and then go back up as you go. Know that if you brush from the top, you will pull all your knots and hair down. Also choose the proper brush, it must be soft for the hair: wild boar hair is better or a wooden wide tooth comb
3)The treatments
Use oils and keratin products to heal your hair. You can apply natural care treatments before shampooing like camellia oil, olive oil, coconut oil or Brazil nut or even shea butter a few hours before washing and then rinse with a mild shampoo suitable for your hair type. Washing is important so that the hair is not asphyxiated, but remember that shampoo should not be put on the tips. Put only a nourishing mask.
You can also test the application of a non-dyeing henna to heal your hair.
Check that the water in your home does not contain too much chlorine or limestone. This can harm your hair. If so, you can buy a filter to soften or filter the water.
4) Drying
Prefer drying in the open air. Do not rub your hair with the towel. Do not brush wet hair and of course avoid heated appliances as often as possible.
5) Granny tip’s recipies
Add 20 drops of chamomile essential oil and 10 drops of rosemary essential oil to your usual shampoo
Choose one of these 4 masks to leave and work for 30 min minimum:
2 drops of essential oil of rosemary, 5 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of honey
3 tablespoons of castor oil, 3 tablespoons of olive oil, 5 tablespoons of honey
- 1 crushed avocado and 4 teaspoons of almond oil
- 2 egg yolks, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil (Optional: 1 teaspoon of lavender essential oil)
- Night care: Apply slightly heated olive oil on the tips. Wrap your hair in a soft towel and rinse it in the morning.
6)The cut
If you want to cut them yourself, buy real hairdresser scissors to do so to avoid any risk of breaking the hair fiber. To cut just the tips, put a towel over your shoulders and twist your locks. This is what will bring out the split ends, you will only have to cut those that stick out.
