You may have decided to skip professional waxing this year but waxing remains the best way to deal with pubic hair since you can count on around three full weeks of total smoothness before the week or so dedicated to letting your pubes grow back to waxing length. Moreover, waxing at home is cheaper and you have more privacy. However, it can still be uncomfortable if you don’t know how to do it properly. Nevertheless, the pain can be very manageable if you use a few good tricks.
1) When ?
The week before the arrival of your period is probably the worst moment to do it since the whole area can be pretty sensitive. We would really recommend doing it right after the end of your period because your body will be more prepared to tolerate pain in the genital area.
2) Exfoliate
Exfoliate one or two days before waxing to get rid of any dead skin. There will be no barrier between your skin and the hairs so the whole process will be easier.
3) A hot bath
Take a hot bath before waxing to open up your pores and make everything easier.
4) Just kill the pain
Get some painkillers 1 hour before to prevent painful sensations. What is more, an anesthetic cream can be applied 1 hour before to anaesthetize the genital area.
