It is not always the first thing we think of, but the washroom is an important place in the house, on many levels. Above all we understand the importance of impeccable hygiene in the family. It might seem strange, but a place in which we ensure everything is clean can also be dirty. We can find traces of soap, limescale and damp, not to mention the various weird and wonderful (and often unidentified) traces that we find on the mirror. All the secrets to shine up your washroom
- Shine up the tiles
- Mix three measures of bicarbonate of soda with one measure of hot water.
- Scrub with a sponge.
- Rinse and dry.
- Clean the mirrors
- Mix one measure of ‘Blanc du Meudon’ (a French brand of crushed chalk, or whiting) with five measures of water.
- Apply the mixture to the mirror.
- Allow it to dry and wipe off with a non-fluffy cotton cloth.
- Descale the taps
- Soak some kitchen paper in white vinegar and wrap it around the taps.
- Leave it stand for fifteen minutes.
- Scrub with a dry cloth.
- Unblock the pipes
- 2 litres of boiling water + 2 to 3 spoons of sugar soap crystals + 1 glass of white vinegar.
- Pour the solution into the pipes.
- Leave it to work for several hours.
- Run water through the pipes to rinse.
- Clean the shower curtain, the door or the shower cubicle
- Wash with a damp sponge, sprinkled with bicarbonate of soda.
- Rinse and dry.
- Remove limescale
- Soak the target areas in white vinegar.
- Leave to work for fifteen minutes.
- Rinse and wipe with a microfibre cloth.
