As the sun starts to shine through your windows this Spring you’re maybe starting to notice the dust through the air. It accumulates quickly and the more people there are in your household the faster it builds up and hides under your carpets, sofas, on your shelves… If your allergic it can be a real chore trying to constantly clean it up whilst your sneezing all day long. Rather than cleaning non stop, why not prevent it! Here are 8 natural yet effective ways to stop the build up of dust or at least slow it down!
1- Avoid the nick nacks
Many scientific research on allergens has concluded that it is better to eliminate or reduce the number of dust catchers, such as trinkets, especially in rooms where you spend the most time like living rooms and bedrooms
2- Opting for pillow covers and anti-dust mats
If you are allergic to mites or wake up with a stuffy nose, remember to cover your cushions and mattresses with anti-dust mite zippers. Wash them twice a year at high temperatures. Needless to say that washing your bed sheets is essential at least once a month.
3- Invest in some doormats
Put thick, tightly woven doormats with a rubber coating in front of each door that allows you to enter the house.
4- Use air purifiers
Place air purifiers in rooms where you are most often. They will help vacuum up the dust before it sets in. Opt for a filtration air purifier
