Avocados: 5 unexpected uses

Avocados are loved by people around the world for their delicious fleshy inner, but did you know that avocados have other tricks up its sleeve?  Avocados are considered to be one of the best allies for a healthier life thanks to it’s antioxidant, hydrating and antibacterial properties as well as it’s fibres and essential fatty acids.  This wonder fruit as got lots to give so you should make the most of it! 

1 — Treating dandruff

What you need:

  • Half an avocado seed (ground)
  • Half a cup of castor oil (about 100 g)

What to do:

1) Grind the dried seed into a fine powder and then mix it into the half a cup of castor oil.

2) Scrub the treatment onto your scalp and then leave to react for an hour.

3) Rinse your hair with warm water and then repeat this process at least twice per week.

2 — Treat your cholesterol levels

What you need:

  •  A ripe avocado
  •  Cup of coconut milk (about 250 ml)

What to do: 

1)  Remove the pulp of your avocado and then mix with the cup of coconut milk.

2) Once you have reached a smoothie texture you can drink this mixture in the morning 2 or 3 times per week.

3 — A body detox

What you need:

  •  A ripe avocado
  •  Lemon juice
  •  Half a cup of water (about 100 ml)

What you need to do:

1) Mix your ingredients until they make a smooth mixture.

2) Drink! For an even better effect you can drink this mixture 30 minutes before taking your breakfast for two weeks.

4 — Combating diarrhea

What you need:

  •  2 tablespoons of ground avocado seed (about 20 g)
  •  1 glass of water (about 250 ml)

What to do: 

1) Grill you avocado seed in the oven and then grind them.

2) Next pour the equivalent of two tablespoons of the powder into your glass of water.

3) Drink a glass of water twice per day.

5 — Combat chapped lips

What you need:

  •  1 tablespoon of avocado pulp (about 15 g)
  •  1 teaspoon of coconut oil (about 5 g)

What to do:

1) Mix a tablespoon of avocado pulp with coconut oil until you have made a creamy balm.

2) Rub the mixture onto your lips and then leave to react for 20 minutes.

3) Rinse and then repeat the same process twice per week.
