Are you tired of smells from the kitchen, or other persistent odours? Do you enjoy pleasant fragrances, and choosing which scent to diffuse in your home? Here are two ways to create your own fragrance diffuser.
What you need:
- A Mason jar with its cover OR a candle holder
- A screwdriver
- A fork
- A hammer
- Bicarbonate of soda
- Essential oils
- A tealight candle
Method 1 (with a candle holder):
- Fill the candle holder with bicarbonate of soda, to approximately a quarter full.
- Add 10 drops of your chosen essential oil, for example citronella.
- Using a fork, mix well.
- Place the tealight candle in the centre of the candle holder and light it. The heat diffuses the scent in the jar.
Method 2 (with a Mason jar)
- Pierce the cover of the Mason jar, using a screwdriver and a hammer. (Make approximately 6 holes).
- Fill the Mason jar with the bicarbonate of soda, until it is about a quarter full.
- Add 10 drops of essential oil, for example citronella.
- Using a fork, mix well.
- And you’re done! This version without a candle is ideal for smaller rooms, such as toilets or washrooms.
