After a good cleanse, the next crucial step is to moisturise! This is the object of today’s article, which will guide you in preparing a natural, home made mixture. It is somewhat runny, but goes on a treat. It gets rid of both small and large spots, and purifies the skin (thanks to the tea tree and niaouli essential oils it contains), it gives the skin a matte look (with the aloe vera gel) and it helps heal acne scars (with the help of the highly reparatory lavender aspic essential oil). In short, it has everything your skin needs, and will leave your face feeling baby soft!
What you need:
- 20 mls of pure aloe vera gel
- 10 mls of jojoba oil
- 2 drops of lavender aspic essential oil
- 3 drops of niaouli essential oil
- 4 drops of grapefruit seed extract (which will preserve the moisturiser for longer)
- An airtight container to store the mixture
- Optional: 4 g of soya lecithin (which combines the whole lot. Without it, the cream will separate and need to be stirred before each use)
These ingredients can be bought in health shops or on the net. Ideally go for good quality, organic ingredients.
Method:
1) Clean and disinfect all of your utensils so as to make sure your mixture is made in hygienic conditions.
2) Put the soya lecithin and the jojoba oil into a container and heat it over a bain-marie. Stir until the soya lecithin is well incorporated.
3) Add the aloe vera, the essential oils and the grapefruit seed extract. Stir well and pour it all into your airtight container.
