If you watch programs like Survivor or The Island, you know the importance of knowing how to light a fire. It is easy to have access to fire in our modern societies, but to make fire on your own with no help is very difficult and takes lots of practice. This trick using a lemon will surprise you and is comforting to know if you have ever ran out of matches at home or to do a physics project with your little ones.
What you need:
- Lemon
- Zinc pins (x6)
- Copper fasteners (x6)
- A wire made of a conductive metal
How to make it:
1) Work the lemon by hand to soften it
2) Plant the copper fasteners in the lemon at regular intervals. There must be a small distance of about 1 cm between each fastener.
3) Do the same on the other side with the zinc rods.
4) Connect the two ends diagonally with the wires. Leave a free fastener and the same for a zinc rod.
5) Tie a piece of cable to the free fastener and the same for the zinc rod. Set fire to paper or something else.
