Replace expensive dishwasher tablets with this home-made dirt busting recipe!
You will need:
- 2 ice cube trays
- 1 cup of bicarbonate of soda
- 1 cup of white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
- 1 cup of Borax (sodium borate, usually available in drugstores)
Method:
1 – Mix the borax and the bicarbonate of soda in a bowl
2 – Add the white vinegar and the lemon juice and mix well
3 – Pour your solution into the ice cube trays, making sure it is well mixed and fully homogeneous
4 – Allow to dry for 5 hours, take the cubes out of the trays and leave to dry for another hour
5 – Keep the cubes in a jar and use one cube per wash
If the water is very hard and limey in your area, you can add more vinegar as well as some salt to the mixture.
