There is nothing worse than getting your white shoes dirty, and not knowing how to go about cleaning them. We often try to rub a sponge over them, or risk putting our favourite shoes in the washing machine, but in the first case the dirt has usually gotten into the creases, and in the second case the shoes come out completely battered. However, it is possible to restore your white shoes to mint condition with this simple tip.
What you need:
- Bicarbonate of soda (60g)
- White vinegar (125 ml)
- A small clothes brush
Method:
1) Add the bicarbonate of soda and the white vinegar to the same container.
2) Shake until the mixture starts to foam.
3) Apply the mixture to your shoes with the aid of the clothes brush.
4) Leave to work for 30 minutes.
5) Rinse with cold water.
And as prevention is better than cure, with a view to keeping your shoes white without cleaning them incessantly, there are numerous very effective sprays that protect your shoes from rain and from stains. Even if they can’t protect against all eventualities, they will help you keep your shoes intact for as long as possible.
