Cooking is fun, and our confidence grows the more we do it. However cooking has dangers and fires can happen so quickly which can spread throughout your home causing damage and deaths. Keep this safety information in mind whilst you are cooking:
- If you pan sets itself on fire due to the high temperature, turn off the heat on the hob immediately. Cover the pan with a damp cloth to put out the flames.
- Take precautions when using a chip fryer. Don’t fill it more than a quarter of its capacity. If the oil goes up in flames, sprinkle onto the oil some bicarbonate of soda to put out the flames.
For additional safety precautions we recommend you purchase an anti fire blanket which you keep stored close to your stove in the kitchen.
