Several tips to keep your bread fresh for longer

5/5 - (2 votes)

The lifespan of bread varies according to the type of flour used. White flour for example does not conserve as long as brown flour. However several tips exist in order to conserve bread longer.  It may seem common sense but it is sometimes useful to remember!

  • Dont keep your bread in the open air. Avoid plastic packets as well. Use a paper bag or a cloth.
  • Dont precut your bread. If you keep it whole it retains its humidity inside and all you will need to do is remove the outer layer.
  • Place your bread in the oven after having wet the crust.
  • Freeze your bread in portions which will correspond to your daily consumption. All you need to do is place it in the micro wave as soon as you wish to devour some bread.

Too late, your bread has dried and you no longer have an appetite? It is not the end of the world, you can make bread crumbs out of it or make croutons which can accompany your soup!
