It can take a titanic effort to clean the grouting between tiles and keep them gleaming white. And at times they get black and dirty again so quickly, that we can ask ourselves why we even bothered tiring out our arms with all that scrubbing!
In fact, you need more than good technique in order to make less work of it (although you can find tips for this in our article on effective techniques for cleaning the grout between tiles, in which we shared the best way to complete the task with minimal effort). You also need some prevention techniques, to stop the dirt and mould from building up again too quickly. And as it happens, that’s exactly what we have for you today!
What you need:
- A candle in the same colour as the grouting (usually white)
Method:
1) Give the grouting a good clean and allow it to dry (or wipe it dry)
2) Rub the grouting generously with the candle. This will create a protective layer that will prevent mould from forming again too quickly.
