Getting a little over-zealous while cutting the vegetables, or one wrong move while shaving and suddenly you have blood pumping everywhere. You are looking everywhere for a plaster, but of course, you can’t put your hand on one when you actually need it. Sometimes, even a plaster isn’t enough, and you bleed through it in less time than it takes to put it on. Try this technique using a common kitchen ingredient to stop bleeding, with an antiseptic ingredient that won’t cause irritation.
What you need:
- Black pepper
What to do:
1) Stop running around like a lunatic, shouting and roaring in a panic 😉
2) Apply the pepper to the cut. The pepper creates a protective barrier and the bleeding will be stopped. Leave it on for as long as is needed. To be honest, it is not the most pleasant sensation. But what counts is that it works, and it reduces the risk of infection.
3) As soon as possible, disinfect the area all the same.
Bonus tip from Granny: We advise you not to apply other condiments (such as salt) which could irritate the skin. Additionally, putting the cut under water only makes the blood run more quickly, and is also to be avoided.
